Im medicating my tank with multicure at the moment (multicure is something that we have here in australia... the ingredients are 0.4mg/mL Malachite green, 4.00/mg/mL Methylene Blue and 2.00mg/mL Acriflavine and it turns the water green)and it seems like it has stained my sand a greenish...

when people say that they put a sponge over the intake of the filter so that nothing can go through to damage the motor, what do they mean by that... i understand but still not exactly sure what it means. Anyone with a pic, much appreciated. Thanks

to me even the small sponge filters make enough current for my betta to be unhappy so i really dont know what to do... and in addition the sponge filters i have access to dont come in very small sizes. Smallest is suitable for a 15G tank

i want to put a male betta in there, dont want to put gravel in so then it will be easier to clean, no filter because he most likely wont be happy with its current. but want it to cycle so i dont have to do 100% water changes every few days. By the way the tank is 20 litres

i mean bare bottom tank as in no substrate... thx :P

a) You clean your sand with a syphon, but you do not get as close to the substrate as if you were cleaning your gravel. Just hover the syphon above the wastes and it should be fine, just practice it and you'll get used to it. You may syphon up some sand every now and then but its no problem. B)...

why is it that i should reduce the feedings before i go when i will do a water change the day before i go? And also after i return y should i reduce feedings for a week? im sure there is a logical explanation but i guess im not that smart :P

thx everybody... well i ended up doing a 30% water change and i took the lids of the tank and turned the heater off. Put the fan on blowing the top of the tank... put an airstone in ... and pumped up the airpump for my sponge filter... managed to get it down to 26 degrees... all is good at the...
