A few bits of information may help 1. How long have you had them 2 have you introduced any new fish or chemicals to the tank 3 what is your ph 4 what is the temp 5 what are your nitrates and nitrites These bits of information will help a lot . I don’t think a fungal infection would do this...

So I can’t help you out with the the cichlids . I’ve never had any besides convicts . But I can tell you that your tank is over stocked . General rule is one inch of fish to one gallon . So you need to keep up with water changes or you could have some problems very soon with a tank overstocked...

Bettas are pretty hardy , she has a good amount of body size . And those injuries don’t look serious enough to be fatal . Give it a few days before you rely on her being more active. There is always the chance of freeing her or how she got stuck did internal damage though . That I can not say...
