there are no fish in the tank now there was a few months ago but they died. are there any types of fish that can be kept in that tank

One of my clients has a ten gallon wall tank in his room. Out of no where it has become full of snails. i was wondering what type of fish could live in a ten gallon tank and also likes to eat snails. Also can the snails get out or do they need to live in water
