I Got a black mystery snail my lfs did not have any nerites. Ive put him in the tank but he has not moved, he has been in about 2hrs so maybe he is just getting use to everything before he comes out.

Do you think my betta would be ok with the snail? I know he can't eat it like he did the shrimp, just wonder about attacking the snail?

Hi folks my lhs was out of ghost shrimp and they wasn't sure when they would get more. So ive ordered 8 cherry shrimp and a shrimp hide cube house so hopefully they will work out better that the ghost shrimp. We will see.

Ok so acording to Name Removed if i add 3 cory catfish that will put me at 98% stocked with doing a 25% wc a week, which i already do a 50% wc a week. So should i just go with 3 corys or should i just go the ghost shrimp route again and just get a big number of them like 6 or 8??

ok so maybe the mistake came from somewhere else who knows. All i know is i want my tank to cycle. So what should i do? Get as much water as i can out get ammonia to around 3ppm and let it go without adding anything else until ammonia drops then i know i have to dose again then?

Well what im trying to say now is that the safe start i added at the beginning of the cycle and two weeks ago when i done a water change is probably what shot the level to high since its in a ammonia solution to start with. Those were added without really any drop in ammonia from my previously...

ok im little confused here, You saying that i have to use something else with the ammonia to start the bacteria? I was under the impression from the article you stated which ive read 100 times already :-) That once ammonia was added that it would cteat bacteria without anything else.

I appreciate the help. Also will the 2ppm ammonia thats still there now not cause new bacteria to grow? If not the best thing to do is start completely over. But ive got to find a way to get all my water out since i do not have any kind of pump right now.
