Thank you so much! I did read that ember tetras preferred temps are 73-84 degrees or a little less and GBR are 84-86. It’s good to know that they are not a harem fish and don’t work with co2. I don’t think I will be getting them; I might just do a group for 30-40 tetras then :)
Is there any...
Hi Everyone! I’m thinking of getting a 29 gallon aquarium with a pair (or a trio 2f/1m) of GBRand 20-30 ember tetras. I am planning to have it heavily planned with diy co2 (citric acid and baking soda). I’ve read some mixed things on the internet about GBRs:
Questions:
1. How many GBRs can I fit...
My tap water is roughly 15gh/8.2ph but due to the driftwood in the 60, it lowers the ph and gh. If I move the platies out of the 60, they should be just fine.
Okay thanks. I'm probably going to try the honey with the angel, if the angel gets aggressive, then I'll move the honey to the 10. Thanks for all the help!
I also have a 10 gallon black water aquarium with 6 exclamation rasboras in it. The rasboras are full grown (roughly half a inch), do you think honey gouramis would work with them?
ph of 7
gh of roughly 7
My water is on the harder side, but I have a lot of tannin due to the driftwood in my tank, and that brings the ph and gh of my water down.
7.5 ph
9 gh
4 kh
Alright. I do realize that platies are hard water fish and most of the other fish are softer water fish. I'm probably going to move the platies to a different tank then. So are all the other fish compatible with one another?
Hello everyone. I have a 60 gallon tall fish tank (48L by 24h by 12W) that I want to turn into a angelfish community tank. Currently in the tank I have 7 platies and 6 harlequins. I'm looking to get 2 juvenile angelfish and letting them grow out. Does anyone have any ideas for stocking? I'm...
Alright, thanks. I'm definitely looking into getting pair. Just to double check, it doesn't matter whether they are bonded or not? (say I could have 2 males or two females, angels are hard to sex so it won't be guaranteed that I get a m+f pair)
Thanks for all the replies. I've been doing a lot of research on angelfish, and many people say that platies are compatible with angelfish. Platies are peaceful fish (they don't nip fins). I'll definitely keep the water hardness and ph in mind. But I'm pretty set on keeping angels and platies...
My tank is 48 inches long, 24.5 high, and 12 inches wide. Platies, harlequins, and angels can all be kept at 75-76 degrees, so temperature wouldn't be a big problem. My biggest concern is the aggression as the angelfish get older.
My tap water is relatively hard. Ph of roughly 8 and a gh of roughly 12. But I have a lot of tannins in my water (due to the driftwood) so the water in my tank is roughly 7.5 and the gh gets down to 9-10. I've read that angelfish will do fine in slightly harder waters since most are captive...
