I have a 24" bubble wand in the back of a 55 gal. tank. I leave this running all the time. Is is neccessary or too much? Should I put it on a timer? In the colder months I know it probably must cool the water down, making the heater work harder. Opinions? Thanks

Hello all, I have a freshwater 55 gal. tank with a Fluval 404 canister filter. I have had this system running for about a year with no problems. I was wondering if my intake and outlet postions are optimal for the fish and tank I have. The Outlet is on one end and about 1/4 of the way down...
