I have just taken your advice and cleaned the impeller housing.  There was quite a bit of gunk in there and I certainly hadn't taken the time to clean that specific part.  Thanks for the help folks and now I'll just wait and see.  It's running fine at the moment but time is the big tell now.  ...

I can't imagine that an exchange would be a problem.  However, if it turns out that it's something I've done or am doing then I'd best resolve that before I start barking at anyone for an exchange.  Are there any common causes for my problem other than a mechanical/electrical failure?   :good:

Hi  all,   I have an EHEIM internal filter and it is continuously losing power.  By losing power I mean the output/flow from it reduces to next to nothing.  It's only about 4 months old and despite removing it in the correct way, rinsing the sponge and ensuring the impeller is free to move it...

Just a quick update.  Unfortunately there are no signs of hatching just yet.  I'm still hopeful though.  I think a magnifying glass is on my list of purchases for the future though, it's very hard to check the eggs for fungus etc with the naked eye.   :good:

Ok, so my eggs are 'eyed' (I'd love to put a picture up but the eggs are tiny!).     My initial idea of removing the eggs from the peat to put in the petri dishes has gone out of the window given the eggs size.  So I've decided to divide the peat evenly into each dish.  I've used some aged water...

The Ammonia will drop but not until the appropriate bacteria colonise your filter sponge etc.  It can take a while for a fishless cycle to level out to 0 0 0.     I hope this helps :)   :good:

OK.  So the postman arrives this morning whilst I'm work and the stuff I need is coming together.   The Killifish eggs are much smaller than I expected so dividing the eggs from the peat could be fun and games but we will see.     Next was the dried food formula.  Much finer than I thought and...

Unfortunately I'd agree.  Sometimes a certain animal was never capable of survival.  It's one the main reasons fish have so many eggs.  I've seen reptiles born that just refuse to eat period.     Take it on the chin and mush on.  Dedication is probably the best tool you appear to have :)   :good:
