I was going to go down the Caribsea TMS but ended up getting Eco-Complete instead (which I'm really pleased with) but my point here is Surrey Pet Supplies :good: did me a great deal and was the cheapest I could find for sure.

Well I'm going for 3" eco-complete, cost me a pretty penny but worst case I'll just have some spare. Don't think I'll be using the gravel. Ordered 7 bags (140lb). On the hunt for some better bulbs (1050cm) and reflectors along with the hardscaping/plants. :nod:

I'm in the process of cycling a new-to-me Jewel Vision 260 with Rena+3 but haven’t added substrate yet as I'm confused as to what I should go for. My aim is to have healthy plants that are easy to maintain - happy to put in the work but don't want to have to spend huge amounts on lots of ferts...

I'm in a similar position. Found Tahitian Moon Gravel which looks pretty good. Never been a fan of sand. Costs a pretty penny though :/ Will be watching thread.

I wouldn't put guppys with a betta... or any other brightly coloured fish for that matter if I were you Plecs are fine.

I'm in a similar position. Previously bought one from Bettaman and although was packaged perfectly I still felt sorry for the little fella in that tiny bag (which I know is how they are shipped by most if not all breeders!) From what I've read if you do buy from say Thailand they would ship it...

Did my regular water change today and cleaned out the Rena XP2 filter I've had for 5 years and couldn't get it back working again. Had an issue on and off where the filter wouldn't turn over but after a bit started working again - this time it seems to be a gonner! Anyway, what recommendations...

I have been running moonlight on rear and daylight in front - plants are going really well and fish seem fine. Seeing my catfish out alot more as well...... I'd say as much as 30% more!

No way, that's a great result, hope he's back to his normal self soon! I had a Khuli Loach go down the drain one time, ran downstairs and got someone to slowly put some water down the drain - caught the guy and he was fine! (Thank goodness for open drains!
