Flying foxes are not peaceful, they are notoriously aggressive. So are red tail black sharks. Both of them would be very likely to cause problems. And that seems to be an awful lot of fish.

I don't have cories with them. Just ADFs and bettas. I would never put cories in with them, as they'd definitely not get anything to eat then. Cories move way too fast and gobble down the food. It takes the ADFs a little bit to find the food.

I have ADFs in two of my betta tanks and they're fine. I feed bloodworms and everyone gets enough to eat.

I've been told that about Amano as well. However, mine breed a LOT and there's not a smidge of salt in the water at all. I've also been told that about nerite snails, and yet I have baby nerites all over the place.

Salt is not necessary for most freshwater fish, including bettas, unless you are treating for ich.

Its very likely you wouldn't be able to keep anything with him, no matter how big the tank. It depends on his personality, but puffers get more aggressive with age. GSPs require 30g minimum, a 55g would be perfect for him alone. Feed enough for his tummy to be slightly rounded but no more...

Depends on how fresh the carbon is. It has a very short half-life and stops working pretty quick. If its fresh carbon, I'd give it at least a couple of days before I'd consider the medicine removed.

Fish become stunted long before they physically outgrow a tank. Their outside stops growing but their insides continue. Imagine if that happened to you. However, that's a choice you have to make, just as its your choice to risk all of your fish by overstocking the tank. *shrug*

Yes, its normal for it to be that cloudy. Please read up on fishless cycling. Its unnecessary to put fish's health and live at risk by putting them in an uncycled tank.
