    New eels

So my little unicolors are doing well snacking on jumbo bloodworms. They have started coming up to the glass. I maybe home early today so I'll try to get some photos.

    Honey gouramis

Honey gouramis are usually sold as males unless specified as females. This is the same with the dwarf/blue/powder blue varieties because they are more visually appealing than the females. Usually when you have a dominant male like your 1st picture the other males won't colour up. I had a...

when bad stuff gets into your aquarium...

Salinity was not a problem, I have a hydrometer and a refractometer and the salt concentrations were in range. What I believe happened is that the toxins from the scorpion fish somehow were embedded either in the silicone or the live rock or the substrate and something about it kept killing the...

    Good Saltwater Foods (not frozen)

Thank you! I was going to use pellets versus flakes as even with my fresh water I don't like to feed them flakes. I'm going to give the Marine pellets from New Life Spectrum a try. Wish there was a frozen food dispenser...

when bad stuff gets into your aquarium...

So not with freshwater, but I had a smaller saltwater tank with a venomous scorpion leaf fish along a wrasse, clown and goby, bubble anenome, brittle sea star, emerald crab and cleanup snails. The scorpion fish died and over the next 48 hours the remaining fish followed suit. No one I spoke to...

    Good Saltwater Foods (not frozen)

I have had a saltwater tank and now that it is established I wanted to look into getting some dried foods to feed along with the frozen foods. My 38 gallon currently has a damsel fish, a bicolor blenny, 2 chalk bass, a dragon goby a pitho crab and emerald crab. Also hav an assortment of...

Is there any point in a co2 canister ? (Trigger Warning)

So years ago when CO2 was the thing, I decided to give it a try on my 75 gallon. Yes my plants exploded in growth BUT I was dry fertilizing daily. I also had an issue with my regular so I dosed CO2 overnight 3 times and killed a few to half dozen fish from asphyxiation as plants also respirate...

    New eels

I found mine at The Wet Spot, but they are usually a by catch and they had 6 or 8 in stock. Wow those yellow unicolor are $$$, and hard to find. Pitty it jumped. Fortunately my eels like their homes so they don't do the "grass is greener" leap.

    New eels

Thank you, I love big eels as well, like chips - you can never have just one, lol First eel is my starlight eel, Mastacembelus alboguttatus. Love her, she is very personable and gentle. Had a unicolor similar in size in the tank and they would show no aggression, actually swimming in unison...

    New eels

Here are some photos of our eels. The big one is Nebula the starlight eel. I would like to get another whenever they are in stock. The spotted one is the new Dayi aka the leopard eel, the smaller one is a maculatus and there should be another but the 125 hides her/him well. The other big mug...
