Is it essential that i use RO water? At the moment i have been using de-chlorinated tap water,i my parameters are ok. Can i still use this till i get hold of an RO unit?

Just one more, if i am supposed to mix the solution 24-48 hours before adding to the tank how do i get the heat in it before i add it to the tank? Regards

Now that my cycling is complete, will i need to do a water change? IF so how much and do i replace it with saltwater or normal de-chlorinated water? Regards

I am off to get some live rock next week now my tank has cycled. How long do i have to keep my lighting on for for? I have an Arcadia3 series with Metal halide with two Rx7's. And do i have to keep them all on or just the halide or the Rx7's? And do i put the lighting on from day 1? Regards

What is the acual purpose of a powerhead? Is it to move water around the tank with the small hose on or move water around the tank creating a lot of bubbles with the small hose off? Regards

Hi all, My tank has been cycling for 3 weeks now, can anybody advise me if my test results today are somewhere near the mark. PH- 8.2 Ammonia-0.25 no2-0 no3-10 Kind regards.

Can anyone explain how long i will have to have my lighting on in my aquarium when i get my fish,(fish only to start with) i seem to get different answers in different books ,some say that it is a matter of personal taste whether it has to be used. Regards

Hi and thanks for the help so far, i have purchased my tank and it has been cycling for a week, do i have to use live rock or can i just use ocean rock? i ask as i really want to keep fish only. And when would be the best time to introduce the rock into the tank. Many thanks
