So far in my fishless cycle today my: pH is 8.2. Ammonia is 0.25ppm. Nitrite is nil. Nitrate is 10ppm. Does this look like its going on the right way?

Chuffed, after a long week of cleaning, trial and error. My new fish tank is done, and I'm just about to add my first fish - 5 Gold Cloud Mountain Minnows and 2 Platys. Cant wait to see them swimming around.

i think im gonna change it for a normal pump, seems less of a headache.

firstly theres not a good seal between the pump and the pipe from the bottom. dont really want to gaffa tape it tight. or should it be slightly loose?

do i go by what the manufacturer says? because i was using the website ##150###.com and it would lower the LPH rate when selecting the filter? If that makes sense?
