Hi, i purchased 4 gouramis i noticed 2 of them had black spots under skin so i put them in separate tank to try and clear spots from fish they have now been in tank  3 months  spots still there but got no larger or seem to affect  them in any way would it be safe to put them in with other fish...

Ah, i have no idea the sex of the fish, it was just the fact one fish is much larger now than when purchased + the way they are acting with each other seems to be more than just playing. suppose i will need to wait to see if anything more occurs cheers.

Hi, is it best to use zeocarb in one basket  + keep  a media basket  empty  for a diff media or just use carbon + zeolite in  separate baskets

tank is cycled been  up /running  for a while  as for fish there are 10 scissor tails, 4 black widow tetras  2 angels,3 suilver dollars, 2 pictus sharks,1 chinese loach , 1 bristle nose pleco,5 small plecos,5 red tail congo tetras,+2 khuli loach.

Hi, sorry its nitrite its a 180  ltr    tank   removed  approx 60ltr,then filters i have a spare ehiem 2213 which i changed over with the dirty one,i also  use  a fluval 205 with that i just emptied the dirty water rinsed sponges in tank water + replaced in tank   as it was not to bad

i have tested tank for nitrate reading was 1 mg caution  so i did a partial water change   cleaned both filters  tested again reading not altered is there any way of lowering nitrate  or do i do another par w/ change

I have 4 kissing gouramis i purchased these about 10 days ago i first put them in quarantine tank then moved to larger tank while in small tank looked okay but since being in other tank have what i can only describe as ulcers under there skin these are black about 1mm in diam + look like...

Thanks for info checked on net  39w ballast around £33 think its worth it that way many thanks.

i have a glo 56w ballast would it be ok to change bulbs to 39w and still keep original ballast as i prefer tank with lower power bulbs cheers
