I use a glass diffuser on my diy co2, it's made by aquagro and it says for all co2 systems on the box. So I gave it a try and it looks and works great, BUT (yep always a but) oldman47 is correct when he says that they need alot of pressure to work, had a few probs getting it going due to leaks...

sorry for sounding like i'm ignorant but this guy is giving lots of advice in alot of topics and then he asks if he should turn off his filter.
In my opinion if he is so knowledgable about fish how come he dosen't know the consequences of turning off his filter?
unplugging the filter would be a really great help.... you will get an ammonia spike then your fish will die giving an even greater amount of ammonia and then algae will grow aplenty :)

I gotta ask.... what is nibbling your plants? In the first post 3rd pic down something has eaten the tip off the leaf and the rot is spreading from the wound. Also in pics on this page (#23) you can see damage to the leaves, looks like a nibbler attack.

I can't see that there would be that much ammonia in your tap water. If your tank is cycled then the filter should deal with any ammonia in your water, it's what the fish waste breaks down into. ammonia - nitrIte - nitrAte, you then remove the nitrAte when doing the regular water change.
