    hmmm by sounds of it your leaning towards wanting a community tank therefor id suggest tetra's as an attraction, and livebearers for your breeding side. i.e. guppys, mollys, platies, swordtails all of which is pretty much male and female then fry ... no matter what fish its always a pleasure to...

    Acclimitising

    When Years ago I had my tank in my room maybe about 12 or so ... I just put a fish in with no acclimatising but that was of course without dad watching or I would of got a telling off ... lol. Didn't effect the fish in anyway :) best not to though ... :D

    Newbie Help!

    Maybe you could use it as a breeding tank, you can get much pleasure out of it. Im taking it you have about 20-25 litres ? you could have about 3 cape lopez lyretail Killifish not are they just beautiful to watch but also easy to breed. Just a thought mind. :)

    Acclimitising

    Generally keep them in the bag floating on top for 20-30 minutes, I wouldn't add the shop water to your tank. disease does travel so its best to net the fish out the bag :)

    It doesnt really matter on make of tank as nowadays, Everything has a standard trading mark on the tank to prove it is fit for sale, no matter how cheap, The glass won't just crack, they have been tested to the standard. You will find the size tank you want will be easily supported by the joists...

    My cousin who had Kribensis bred in his tank, One day he was cleaning out his filter to find 15 large Kribensis living ... They survived due to air circulation and a nest full of bloodworms in there. So definately check out your tank.

    Perhaps some Zebra Danio's a very hardy fish and quite an attractive fish.
