    Red's Thread

So I have been thinking about by next trip to the grocery store... Things to add to my grocery list for Red: Peas Greenbeans (finely chopped) - can fish really eat these? And that is all I got! There has got to be something else I can treat him to?

I can't tell if this is the beginnings of fin rot or just part of his coloring. Someone please help! I've only had him 5 days! Thanks. Another one:

    Creating A Home...but...

Just so I am understanding the tap water issue: 1) It is okay to clean everything with tap water and put back into bowl? 2) It is okay to pour tap water into bowl and then add the few drops of dechlorinator directly into bowl? I guess the whole aged water thing has gone completely over my...

    Is This Normal Behavior

I just got my little guy on Saturday and I am trying to get him to flare, but I can't seem to do it. I have a little mirror and he just swims away every time I try to hold it up. Maybe the bowl inhibts his ability to see his reflection? I want to see him flare!

I don't know what is up with this little guy, but his eating habits need to change. I think since I've had him (since saturday), he's only eaten like 4 betta pellets. Most of the time when I try to feed him he spits everything back out and it just sits in his bowl until I scoop it out...

I am going to transition to tap water throughout the week. I've got the decholinator, but I'll have to make the transition to tap water gradually right?

    Red's Thread

I am getting ready for bed, but I am concerned about my betta Red. Ever since his first 50% water change he has been kinda sluggish. He's hanging out towards the top of the bowl, so I think that is a good sign? But still he is just staying in one place and not moving much. I've been using...

    Creating A Home...but...

I think I traumatized Red during the first water change. I put him in another dish so I could move some stuff around and use the turkey baster to take out what I could. He's a hard sucker to catch with the net. One thing I did notice about the 50% change I did is that I still see some stuff...

    Creating A Home...but...

Thanks for the input everyone. I was concerned that the discoloration could be fungus, but like I said, I'll be sure to keep an eye on it. I got Red Saturday, so I figure today he is do for water change. Thanks again.

Does anybody know what this gray coloration could be? I've tried doing some reading on diseases and such, but I think I am just worrying myself over nothing. I'll continue to watch and see if gets worse. Thanks.

    Creating A Home...but...

I was never really good at arts and crafts but I found this stuff at Walmart for the top of my bowl. I wish I could cut a perfect circle! Anyway, this was by the yarn and definitely looks like it will work great, and it won't be an eye sore. I also picked up a turkey baster. Question about...
