Yes am in UK. Got mainly tetras and rasboras who struggle with the flow with my EF1000 which is 8 times flow. Have recently made bigger holes in the spraybar which has lessened flow. So difficult to judge what flow would work.

I am looking to upgrade my external filters on two 125 litre planted tanks but getting lots of conflicting information about flow rates etc. Been looking at Oase filters and thought the 250 or 350 versions would be ok, but being told the 600 version is way to go, but that does seem quite a flow...

How about a under gravel filter?

Can anyone recommend a filter for a 29 litre tank. I have an internal one that isnt any good and want to use the tank for a few ember tetras or a betta. Any advice much appreciated.

The only other option i have seen is to replace the bulbs with different colours and use reflectors from a company called Iquatics. Anyone ever use them? Would a tropical and blue bulb improve the lighting?

How thick acrylic would you recommend?

Thanks for the replies. Think taking fish out is going to be best thing to do. Putting the old water back is a new one to me, is there a reason for doing this. Also does anyone use the tropical T5 lights (or similar). I've got white ones but wondering if the tropical ones would show up fish...

A shop near me has sparkling gourami. Are they prone to the disease at all?

Ok that's great info. Had to order some Seachem Flourish as LFS didn't have it (had every other Seachem but not one I wanted). Due tomorrow. Also ordered a API gh/kh kit to be on safe side.

There doesn't seem to be any algae in tank, is that a problem?
