Thanks was just about to ask this question when i came across this thread. Black one out then!! can i put an extra filter in it's replacement or just leave a gap? more pads better filtration right?

It must be a sign!! I was only looking in the LFS this weekend at these make your own brine shrimp hatchery. JBL seem to have lots of them> If i get the kids this then they might stop banging my tank shouting "NEMO NEMO" I havent even got any fish in their yet...

get some shrimp! can you get same sex ones to stop them overtaking the tank? (not sure how easy that is) but i do know shrimp are great

Acurate if i'm reading it correctly!! first time i've tested the ammonia. also when i gave the reading for the NO3, the colour didn't change at all, so i just put the lowest reading down. Reading what you've said i suppose that should have read NO3 = 0 Also i think the ammonia leaching from...

water test result: Temp = 26 Ph = 7.0 NH4 = 0.5 NO2 = 0.01 NO3 = 0.5 Taking the kids out on the bike for the afternoon now, will do a water change later today.

i think it was becketts water trumpet. when i left the shop i knew every plant i left with and what they looked like, but now i'm not so sure! Unfortunatley no post yesterday, have declhorinated and carried out a 20% water change just to test my Pump Really, will post full water stats later.

i think i've got 5 stem plants all together, some are hidden by the swords. there's only 3 swords by the way. do you think i'll need to take 2 out? got my ammonia test though so thats one thing less on the list.

kee[ seeing some bubbles coming up from the substrate already, but how am i meant to not stir up the substrate when planting pick up some ammonia test kit later, just waiting in for your parcel at the mo, hopefully it will arrive today, then i can get the extra plants in and go get my Tiger barbs
