Ok...my husband removed about 25% of the water. Added more water. Then we went to the fish store. They would not sell or give us gravel from the tank. But instead sold us "Cycle". It's susposed to be the good bacteria? He said to follow the bottle's directions but to use it everyday...

Well it sounds like a story I'm making up. But honestly...the store he bought it from is closing. They are clearing out their inventory currently. We are thinking about buying one of their tanks. So truly...taking the fish back to that store isn't an option. We live in the country and...

The other fish...we put fish in the tank to start it up. About 4 days later...we added the rest. Then two days later...my son came in with the discus. It isn't a matter of wanting any money back for the discus. It was a present from my son...and it was a big deal for him to do this for me...

So seeing how I didn't do the fishless cycle correctly...is there anything I can do at this point to try and save my fish short of returning them? I know the fish store my son bought this fish at. They will take it back but will not give my son any money back for it. It's a no guarantee fish...

Ok...I guess my idea of a fishless cycle wasn't what it should have been. At any rate...what can I do at this point? I am going to remove some water....I've read that 25% should be removed. Any ideas/help would be wonderful. I can't return this fish...it was sold to my son with no guarantee.

Thanks for replying. By a "fishless cycle"...I'm assuming you mean running the filters with no fish added. Yes I did do that for 3-4 days before adding any fish. We have angels, tetras gourami's...and this new discus. I forgot to add...it's a 55 gallon tank. We had a discus for several...

My pH is really high. I tried lowering it but now my tank is cloudy. I am just at a loss as to what I should do? Should I remove water and replace it? Anyone?

Hi, I'm new here so bare with me, please. We recently setup a new tank...within the last two weeks. Everything was going fine. Then over the weekend...my kids bought me a discus as a mother's day gift. Which is great but ... I want to be sure my tank is ok for a discus to be in. Can anyone...
