We are getting another tank (10 possibly 20 gal) hopefully this weekend from gf's grandparents, gunna get that to cycle right so that will help with stocking problem. But like my gf was saying a pet store told us it would be ok what we have, she didnt seem to be trying to sell us anything...

you all keep telling me im over stocked... but ive been to 3 different pet stores now and they tell me im fine....

my tank is 10 gallon and i was told at the place i got it that the fish i have in there were fine (3 mollies and 6 platies), and everything tests fine except the nitrites (and that just started being bad) ive had the tank a week or so..but i screwed up when setting it up bc i got some bad advice...

i used jungle "fungus eliminator" and its yellow crystals

i put medication for finrot in my tank today, and as my we were watching them my bf noticed that there was a "blue gas" type thing coming up from the gravel right where i put the meds in...is this normal or should i be worried?

ive got all the stuff (tank buddies, ammonia clear that sorta stuff) but i cant remember which is which to use when the nitrites are too high, my tank is reading high right now and i need to get them in there help!

water says in normal temp range...n i have a 10 gallon tank, 3 mollies and 6 platys all stats in normal range except nitrite is kinda high also just had a platie die from fin rot and have a few more with it, got med to treat it today and started treating it as for oxygen if it were low what...

my mollie is swimming to the top..eatin air bubbles. then comin back down n blowin bubbles out...is that normal? is she just playing? :good:

i have some 6 platies n 2 mollies, well i did, found today one of platies dead noticed yesturday that her back fin had what looked like a bite taken out of it then now i find her dead, any ideas what it is? cuz now i noticed 2 more of platies have what looks like bites taken out of their back...

10 gal tank with 3 platies and 1 mollie its really hard to tell by the fins cuz they are so small and wont stand still, looks like mollie is female and possibly 2 of platies are, cant really tell on the platies tho looking at them close looks like 2 platies male one female and mollie female...

wasnt sure because the mollie seems to be kind of aggresive when doing so, since its the the size made me wonder if mollie tryin to attack the smaller platies

my mollie ( who is twice the size of my 3 platies) seems to be chasing them around the tank n bumping into them on purpose..r they playing? or something else?

Also a question about filters. From what i gathered reading posts on here it seems like i shouldnt change the sponge 'media' like i says to do every 2-4 weeks because that will get rid of good bacteria right? I should just be cleaning it off occasionaly in the old tank water during a water...

as for the plants, should i get real ones? i saw some bulbs that grow, figured i should have gravel in for that though, or should i just get some of the fake ones? whats the differance in the salt, we got aquarium salt n when we added some last nite when the mollie shimmied it seemed to help she...

Yea i am hoping the fish can make it through all this but know its going to be tough on them. I saw that it said some test strips are crap, i got Quick Dip 5 in 1 tests by jungle labs corp. think they should be good? Also should i hold off on using the crystal clear stuff for the cloudyness? The...
