Not the best of scapes, but I like to watch it. (112 litres / 30 gal)

So I decided to make yet another tank, this time with Cryptoheros Nanoluteus. I've never seen these fish before, but I learned about them on this forum: https://www.fishforums.net/threads/stocking-suggestions-for-112l-tank-80cm-x-35cm-x-40cm-almost-30-us-gal.477924/ Later I found out that in...

I feel like I am failing miserably...

It's pretty big job to do this but it would help and be good for corydoras - change the gravel to fine sand. Firstly - corydoras have to have sand in my, and many others opinion. Secondly, more importandly - waste cannot be traped within it. In gravel which you have - it can. Fish waste, uneaten...

Aquarium silicone - is it safe after one week?

Ok, I'm not in a hurry so I think I'll wait two or so more days after it doesn't smell at all. I like to sleep well and not worry constantly :) Thank you!

Aquarium silicone - is it safe after one week?

Hi! I've got a question. Exactly one week ago I put together few rocks and wood pieces, using aquarium silicone (JABA is the maker, something like that, just black: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00QTWYF9A/?tag= ). It says it cures 2mm per 24hrs. So if you glue two pieces of "something" together...

    Pine wood

So, first of all I would not use any "conifers" wood. Use deciduous trees wood/fruit trees wood. Secondly - don't use branches/wood which was submerged under water. It can contain many microorganisms which may be harmful to your fish etc. Lastly, but I think most importantly - cook it. I put...

    removing ammonia

I have no idea what those "magical products do". For me that's Harry Potter stuff, and fishkeeping is much easier. Just cycle the tank before adding any fish/shrimp etc. to it, filter it well, do water changes every week, don't overstock the tank, don't overfeed your fish, aaaaand... I think...

10 days in, still waiting for that ammonia spike?

If you don't feed them, they don't produce that much waste - they still can eat that algae you mentioned but the most mess comes to a tank with pellets, flakes etc. Much of it ends up hanging around in the tank, not in fishes stomachs, then you have a lot of fish waste coming from that. Giving...

    Stocking suggestions for 112l tank (80cm x 35cm x 40cm) (almost 30 US Gal.)

Got an update from the seller - it's not panamensis, it's cryptoheros cutteri. They were swimming in one tank, divided into two separate sections. One must've jumped over to the other side. Offered me refund, but they weren't THAT expensive so I didn't bother getting that money back. He says...

    Stocking suggestions for 112l tank (80cm x 35cm x 40cm) (almost 30 US Gal.)

I messaged the guy whether or not he has cryptoheros panamensis as well (if it's possible that they were in the same tank). When they were all stressed there they all looked the same (pale). Yes, one of them has more rounded fins, but I think they are both males as well, no dark spot on dorsal...

    Stocking suggestions for 112l tank (80cm x 35cm x 40cm) (almost 30 US Gal.)

Ok, I'm going to try upload something to youtube so you could see more/better. I'm not 100% sure if all three of them are Nanoluteus. One is different. I think it's the most agressive as well. More pale/white, with red stripe on its dorsal fin? Also, I have no idea whether or not I've got male...
