Hi, I'm Looking For Guppy Breeders!

This is the incorrect forum for that question I believe.

    Fat Or Pregnant Molly?

Definitely pregnant. When you purchase mollies or other livebearers from the store you can always assume that they are pregnant. Generally stores don't split out the male and female livebearers and livebearers can hold sperm for almost 6 months.

Should I Add Bioboost Etc After Doing An Amonia Based Water Change?

A well established aquarium should never have any ammonia. It should only have nitrates. Any ammonia -> nitrite and any nitrite -> nitrate.    In general, for a well established tank the only thing you should do for water changes is pour in new water. No need to add in any bacteria boost and if...

My 5 Foot Lake Malawi Tank

Beautiful tank looks nice. How long have you had it set up?

    Are My Fish Compatible?

With a school of six pictus catfish if that is what you choose to increase it too (as recommended by Byron) 60 gallons may be too small of a tank size. If possible I recommend increasing the tank size to 75 gallons as a minimum.   However, if you do choose to keep the catfish with the shark and...

    Filter Maintenance

Personally I only use foam media with my Aquaclear filter and ignore the rest. While you don't technically need to replace foam until it is falling apart, I do agree that sometimes when the foam gets brown and dirty it is worth replacing. I put 3 foam sponges in my Aquaclear filter so generally...

    Ammonia In Water

Just saying because I don't see it here, Cory Cats if you plan to replace them tend not to do well in groups of 1-3. I would recommend keeping them in schools of at least 6-8. (plus their schooling behavior is very interesting)

    Correct Light For Corals

From what I understand, fluorescent bulbs are too weak for most corals. However, if you are planning on using them I would recommend getting a 4-8 bulb t5 fluorescent fixture. Otherwise, if you need more power, you could use metal halide bulbs.    However, with the huge investment reef aquariums...

    Molly Pregnancy

For some fish, you can induce pregnancy by changing conditions. For example, for Amazonian fish, a large water change often inducing egg laying because it signals to the fish the arrival of the floods.   However, for livebreaders that breed like guppies (mollies included), you should generally...

New Fluval View+Fish Sucked Into The Intake=Sad 10 Year Old

What is the size of your tank and how fast is the water moving (in gallons per hour). If you have more than 10x turnover, that may be part of the problem.     On top of that, I would say you have several options. Regular band-aid gauze does work quite nicely normally, however, to be on the safe...

    10Gal To Crowded?

If your willing to upgrade to a 55 gallon you should be able to keep most of those fish and upgrade your schools to the proper size.   However, if you aren't interested in upgrading, aquabid normally sells ghost shrimp or your local LFS but they are normally overpriced at your local LFS. First I...

    Lighting Advice

Let us know how the LEDs go. Otherwise I would return the tank and get one with lighting that works.    However, if you just want the lights for viewing purposes the LEDs should work fine.

    Newbie Here And Questions

Definitely don't get an algae eater, most probably couldn't fit well fully grown in that tank.   If you are just looking for suggestions and don't have any particular preferences or restrictions, I would say that a school of cardinal tetras could look quite nice in a smaller tank like that.

Anyone Use A Fx6? & Some Sad News.

I would say that two is probably a bit overkill but on a tank that big, especially with the huge outlets, you'll have no issue with high flow rates.
