I purchased a Gourami today and I noticed that he began to ram against my java ferns. I read that some eat plants but why would it just attack the Java Fern. Can someone give me some tips on how I can control this habit and stop my Java Ferns from eventually being completely destroyed?

But this filter does have all the bacteria because I used to use it for a 5 gallon with a Betta and 3 amanos before I moved it to my 10 gallon.

Does this rule apply even if I have a filter made for a 20 gallon tank?
