    Betta Fish Help!

That sounds very traumatic for my betta fish (he isn't a goldfish). If I were to do it, should I wait a few hours after I've fed him peas? Will the trauma be worth it; is this going to help him that much more than the peas?

    Betta Fish Help!

Yes, that's the product. The rock isn't still visable, and he isn't gasping or seemingly "choking", just acting normal right now. Thank you, I'll go feed him a pea now, since I don't have cod liver oil.

    Diamond Blend

This is the product I'm concerned about: http://www.marineland.com/products/consumer/con_diamond.asp I was wondering if anyone knew if the chemicals in the black diamond rock could kill my fish, because he just swallowed one.

Are you sure that this all wouldn't be too big for hus stomach? He ate a food pellet at that same time as he ate the rock, so he's pretty full. Should I do this right now or in about two hours?

    No, he completely swallowed it.

    Betta Fish Help!

Today I was feeding my fish, and he accidentally mistook one of the floating rocks (there were a few stray floating rocks at the top) as food! This "rock" was the black diamond rock from the Diamond Blend (http://www.marineland.com/products/consumer/con_diamond.asp). These are used to filter to...

    Ill Betta Fish

Thanks for the suggestion! Do I mix it with Metafix, or put in a dose of Primafix by itself? I'm getting really scared for my betta because his fins are nearly gone. I don't want it to attack his body. Edit: I'm using Maracyn- TC now instead. His fins are about 3/4 gone...

    Ill Betta Fish

Things have been getting worse; he's not eating anymore and his fins are crumbling at an alarming rate. I have been giving him medicine for two days (Melafix), and I have increased the temperature about 2 degrees ever since he has been in the other bowl (also, the ammonia has been producing too...

    Ill Betta Fish

Thanks a lot! I'll go buy some right now. Also, he has an appetite, but he spits some of it back out. I hope this medication will help!

    Ill Betta Fish

Ok, thanks for the advice! I may have some medication, but I'm not exactly sure what kinds. I'm new at betta owning, so I'm still learning the best I can how to take care of them. (I've had 2 before, 1 died of dropsy and the other.. well, jumped out of its bowl.)

    Ill Betta Fish

Is it okay to change the water again? It was fresh from this morning- those color strips are difficult to read so I assumed it was either .1 or .2, just a twinge of green. But if it will help my poor betta out, I'll do another change and use warmer water this time.
