That sounds very traumatic for my betta fish (he isn't a goldfish). If I were to do it, should I wait a few hours after I've fed him peas? Will the trauma be worth it; is this going to help him that much more than the peas?

Yes, that's the product. The rock isn't still visable, and he isn't gasping or seemingly "choking", just acting normal right now. Thank you, I'll go feed him a pea now, since I don't have cod liver oil.

Are you sure that this all wouldn't be too big for hus stomach? He ate a food pellet at that same time as he ate the rock, so he's pretty full. Should I do this right now or in about two hours?

Things have been getting worse; he's not eating anymore and his fins are crumbling at an alarming rate. I have been giving him medicine for two days (Melafix), and I have increased the temperature about 2 degrees ever since he has been in the other bowl (also, the ammonia has been producing too...

Ok, thanks for the advice! I may have some medication, but I'm not exactly sure what kinds. I'm new at betta owning, so I'm still learning the best I can how to take care of them. (I've had 2 before, 1 died of dropsy and the other.. well, jumped out of its bowl.)

Is it okay to change the water again? It was fresh from this morning- those color strips are difficult to read so I assumed it was either .1 or .2, just a twinge of green. But if it will help my poor betta out, I'll do another change and use warmer water this time.
