    Growing puffer needs space!!

Well my mbu puffer is now 9" long and in a tank 12" deep he is getting very very cramped when he's turning around  So, my problem is this, I have a 100cm wide space to fit a tank in... so I'm looking for another 36 to 39" wide, but its needs to be deep, at least 18" front to back...

    All my fish are dying

tap water does contain nitrate. It may help for you to test your tap water just to know what's going in with every water change. The 'no nitrate' i wrote about in my previous post would be your results using ro water. with tap water, it would be at the level it is coming out of the tap until the...

    All my fish are dying

Unfortunately 'cycle' contains dead bacteria, so although it contains the bacteria you need, it is almost useless as the bacteria you are adding are already dead, and no chance of reincarnation.... you still need to go through the cycling process. if you want to cycle with fish, waiting 2 days...

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HELP!!!!

was he skinny before he stopped eating, or has he only got skinny since refusing to eat? if he was skinny before, it may be that he has internal parasites which were taking all the food from him which is why he got skinny even though he was eating. After a while I guess not getting enough...

    cycling.

As The Woolf said, you need to have a source of ammonia in the water to make the cycle actually happen either from ammonia, rotting fish food, or fish poo. An empty tank left to stand will never cycle. :)

    All my fish are dying

Hi k2snowboards88, a couple of questions about the problems you have been doing so far, you say you got into the hobby about 2 and a half weeks ago, does this mean the tank was first set up at that time? Do you know anything about the nitrogen cycle and what is referred to as 'cycling' a...

Can you have too much filtration

If it was my tank I would disconnect the undergravel filter and leave the other 2 running. Undergravel filters tend to just suck all the crap into the gravel rather than up into the filter sponges where you want it. They do little for biological filtration in the tank, make the gravel harder...

    Cloudy Water?

When you say you changed the sponge in the filter, did you remove the whole sponge and put in a brand new one?
