I would personaly get a trio, there for he wont harras just one female. Or the extra female will cause 1 fem and the male to pair up and they will team together to chase hre away.
Trio in the 10g with lots of rocks slate and pot for hiding places will be ok. Not had what your buying but i kept...
i would deffently say it's asian bumblebee, it was tagged as bumblebee in the shop just not which one it was.
something to do with the tenticals on the head the pic link you provided each fish was different check nr the nose

As i thought asian bumblebee was Liocassis siamensis? i also thought they reach 6".
the south american bumble bee catfish is microglanis iherngi which is 4 inches.

The mix up could have been there was 2 diff types of bumblebee and he gave me a different one to what i wanted ?
Please is there anyone who can give my catfish an id. I bought it from a petshop closing down its fish section there was a few catfish with a bumblebee catfish also. I asked for the bumblebee and thought thats what i got till i got home.

Hi imo 30 fish in tank that size is not enough they should be kept in a big group as long as you got good filtration to keep the water clean. personaly in a 4x2x2 i would have 50-60 they love sand and alot of rocks.
could you explain why its illegal to crossbread a fish ?. arnt people legaly doing it all the time, just look at parrot fish and most goldfish.
If i had 2 breeds of dog i could breed them with no problems, whats different with cross breeding fish. morally i think its wrong but why ilegal
