nope, it was the reflection (sorry) no white spot. I guess I'll never know? All other fishies seem happy :D

TAZZ, imho the larger stores have the least knowledge - they just out to make a quid/buck. Find yourself a decent lfs (local fish shop) they should look after you, most (not all) peeps in large stores know little or nothing about fish!

well (as a novice myself) I'd not go back there again, you just cant buy a tank/bowl and fish at the same time - go do a search on 'cycling tropical tanks' read articles in here, then just read,read, read and ask questions TAZZ

TAZZ what you keeping in your goldfish bowl? maybe the fish in the quote is ill cos there is no heat?

lesson one TAZZ, you need a heater, your fish (any fish) needs a constant temperature (you get to put a coat on when your cold). we don't meen to sound harsh but you do need to go read (or ask) when keeping fish you get to play god! - you need to learn

Well, have had plants for 4 weeks now and one is starting to hit the top of the tank (1' growth), should I just cut it back a couple of inches (or as in the garden) should I cut it back hard to promote bushing?? (oh, and is it easy to make cuttings from it? and plant in the same tank?)

just off the top of my head Tazz, I'd say go buy a heater! - much easier and accurate ;)

I think you can get battery operated ones too slt ;)

tabs, yukkkk from what I've heard tabs are ok for a mature tank but not very accurate so you need a fall back - liquid is easier than tabs but with xmas coming up would not mind splashing out on an all singing all dancing leckythingy. ;)

I had heard (about) the growling thing - it must be loud if you can hear that through the glass :D To be honest they have almost made the tank look better with the lights out :rolleyes: :rolleyes: Only 10 days till they meet the silver dollars B) B)
