Please Help: Sterbai Cory Paralysis, Twitching, "seizures"

Sorry for the belated reply. I just wanted to update. Fish are doing fine, I've added two more and setting up a 55g for them. One of them still twitches, but I think it's just permanent damage.

Please Help: Sterbai Cory Paralysis, Twitching, "seizures"

I do want the fish I add in, but only want to do one fish at a time to see if it is still contagious. Would it be okay to add one more small cory temporarily (3-4 weeks) to see if it is still contagious? I know I'm already pushing it with three. Once it's all clear I'd like to get a 40 gal and...

Please Help: Sterbai Cory Paralysis, Twitching, "seizures"

I would like to get more corys when I get a larger tank, I am just very scared they will get sick too, even though I have treated my corys. They still show symptoms (curling spine, twitching) which may never go away. It's very hard to get on camera. I wanted to try first with a different species...

Please Help: Sterbai Cory Paralysis, Twitching, "seizures"

Thanks again. I haven't given them any medicine for the past few days. I've been feeding them Omega shrimp pellets, hikari sinking wafers, and blood worms. I do want to try some vegetables and algae wafers. I was wondering if I should ever consider getting more fish to put in with them after...

Please Help: Sterbai Cory Paralysis, Twitching, "seizures"

Thank you Byron. What do you think of the cory that twitches every 5 seconds (she has never stopped doing this since it started)? Do you think this is permanent damage from whatever happened to them? Will her barbs ever regain the orange color the others have? I know it is a guessing game, but I...

Please Help: Sterbai Cory Paralysis, Twitching, "seizures"

Thanks for the replies everyone. I admit they do not look "bad" most of the time. It is very hard to capture what I am seeing in photos or even video. They act normally, but I find the tail curling, twitching, and loss of balance unsettling. There are angular crooks in their spines which I know...

Please Help: Sterbai Cory Paralysis, Twitching, "seizures"

New Update They are still declining in health even though I change the water every 1-2 days/vacuum and trying four different medications (obviously not the right ones). It has been almost 2 months with this problem. Their spines are going crooked, C shaped, (not in the typical TB way) and their...

The most damaged cory continues to improve, he is gaining more control of his body and is able to swim pretty well, but definitely not like a regular cory. Coloration is turning to normal (was darkened). Still twitches. They lose balance occasionally. My main concern is their spines still curl...

Please Help: Sterbai Cory Paralysis, Twitching, "seizures"

Yeah, it was bittersweet because my betta's fin rot has come back with a vengeance. It seems the kanaplex didn't help as much I would have liked. I got so focused on other things I didn't pay attention to his fin shrinking. :(  I quarantined him and I'm giving him a different treatment, so I...

I was considering garlic if I couldn't get them to eat, but I think I've got em to eat it.   I have some good news. I woke up this morning and I have seen a major improvement. At first I refused to believe it, but he has definitely changed. I stood up late last night and waited for them to be...

Unfortunately, the cories were not interested in eating the worms. They ate a few, but did not seem hungry. It was a bit frustrating, but I am going to try again later. Usually I feed them before going to bed and turn off the light, so it was a bit out of their routine. I thought they love blood...

Please Help: Sterbai Cory Paralysis, Twitching, "seizures"

Thanks for the responses. Most people are now pointing towards parasites, so that is the best educated guess I have. I almost broke down in the LFS because they said there is nothing I can do. I felt a bit silly getting so upset over fish, but they are my babies. They recommended if I do try to...

Please Help: Sterbai Cory Paralysis, Twitching, "seizures"

Another one of my cories is starting to show symptoms. When he sits still his head starts floating upward like he has no balance and his spine is starting to go inward, not severely, it's very subtle. His upper fin is also going off to the side. I'm noticing a slight redness in the "armpits". I...

Please Help: Sterbai Cory Paralysis, Twitching, "seizures"

Thanks for the info. I use API stress coat with every water change. I haven't dosed kanaplex for almost two weeks. I gave two rounds of treatment that were spaced about a week apart. I read on the seachem website that it was relatively safe to do this way, which is why I did it. I put it in a...
