Pearl wont build another nest since i accidently destroyed his first while cleaning, i think hes mad at me! but its driving me mad, Skie looks like shes about ready to pop and he just wont build her a nest, maybe i need a new boy for a competition too.

i have a pregnant female guppy in with 4 males, and two of the males keep nipping her fins and chasing her. im a little worried she'll get distressed, and was recommended popping her in a coke bottle bottom floating at the top to seperate her. does this seem okay? and now long should i leave...

ive been reading up on methods of breeding, and a couple of sites recommend placing the lady in a see-through container like a jar or sawn off bottle bottom (obviously clean and floating on top so oxygen is fine), so that the bloke betta can see her and prepare. how long can i pop her in there...

i really have fallen in love with them overnight! the female betta is trying to help rebuild the nest with Pearl, its very sweet. his nest is still rather small bless him! taken some pictures with 3. megapixel camera phone, just trying to find a lead for the PC off ebay.

he mentioned Pearl being bred in shanghai, and said how he has rare colouring that comes from a variety of types. i'll upload a picture when i can find the camera and get him to hold still! he's really going to town with his flaring!

no worries lilfishie, im used to forums and their harshness..! im glad i didnt discourage him, i just assumed when websites and books said "nests" they meant little secluded parts of the tank, not a bubble nest. but yes, he does seem very very slow with the building. and i reckon shes getting...

apparently hes some sort of hybrid which took a lot of breeding to get his colour, but he doesnt look like a splenden, and hes not aggressive towards any of the smaller fish in the tank.

i know, they were together in the breeder's place as theyre a mated couple. the people there said theyd live together permanantly fine.
