Thanks everyone for the quick replies. When you say people tend to get 6 oscars, the tank would have to be pretty big? The plan was to get them when they were very young. If i was to get six, is it fair to assume that they could 'pair off', which would mean i could give away the remaining 4...

When i clean my filter I disconnect it, open it up, and rinse everything with tank water. I also change the white filter pad. Yes I do vac my gravel, but its very hard to get to most of the gravel coz of plants, so I would say only about 40% of the gravel is accessable. Thanks for the reply.

I keep an angel fish with a blue and a gold gourami and a RTBS. They dont affect each other at all. I do know that the angel fish should be about the same size as the gouramis though, you dont want a small angel and large three spots. Not sure about dwarf gouramis and mollies though...
