🐠 TOTM VOTE NOW: August 2025 Tank of the Month Contest (31 US gallons and larger)

This is a Fluval Roma 125. I removed all the trim as I wanted a 'rimless' tank (was initially worried about whether some essential structural elements had been removed along with the trim, but it's been fine). Current scape is about 2 years old. Fish: A pair of pearl gourami (1 male, 1 female)...

    Replace biohome ultra with foam?

I've been doing some research on filter media and have come across the findings the Aquarium Science – The Science of Aquariums. I'm growing sceptical about ceramic media etc. and am thinking foam/pot scrubbers etc. is the way to go. The media on the internal filter on my Fluval Spec 60 is...

    Platy acting strange

Yes, they'll keep breeding. When I kept livebearers I used to regularly catch several and take them to my local aquatics retailer for re-homing.

    Platy acting strange

The ratio needs to be the other way round. More females would help to reduce the aggression.

    Platy acting strange

Get some more females if there's enough room in the tank?

    New to the forum

Not sure if it's already been mentioned, but this stuff is a supply of live bacteria couriered out to your address directly from the suppliers on demand. I've tested it and it works well.
