My Torch & Polops Wont Open

Need more info on your set up.   I have yet to see a prepackaged set up that has enough flow and enough PAR in the lights, for long term coral health.   If your stuff is doing fine in your 65 you can do frequent large % water changes from there.  Then you will have knocked out the chemistry...

    Something Eating My Starfish?

sounds like bacterial infection. We call it "stress melt" around here. This often happens right after acclimation. If you are lucky new arms will grow out of the body.

Looking For A Good (semi) Reef Safe Anemone

bubble tip is the best beginner anem IMO. For one thing they are easily sustainable through aquaculture. Plan well then enjoy.

    Engineer Goby Food (again)

The "problem" with these guys as they get larger they increasingly become detrivors(sp). Let one bite you... its like a drunk grandma trying to eat ice cream (no disrespect to our gramses intended). Weak jaws, sandpaper for teeth. They are used to lazily pulling the flesh off of rotting fish...

    Breeding Copepods

With any animal we should have the food source then the animal. 2 Pumps, shop light, some chaetomorpha(sp) and a bucket that will drain back to your main display will provide all the pods you need. But you need about 3 months before this will really start producing. Please, learn the food...

    Diy Sump

Personally I would have gotten my money back and got a pre-drilled tank. Drilling is super easy though, especially with diamond bits. and those are cheep now. try bulkreefsupply.com they should have any size you need.

    Dolabella Auricularia

Ya its more a worrie when they are small... or if they do die for whatever reason. One hare is like... 30 -40 astrea of flesh. You certianly don't want that blended up in your tank ;p They do a great job though!

Too Much, Too Quick? & Two Part

Likely it will all work except for the clowns. Pushing the limits of the bioload. If you are prepared and equiped its doable long term. Acclimation AKA howdie boxes (stole that term from superman and crew) help alot. Acclimation boxes are clear tanks inside of a tank... like big breeder...

Some Eye Candy For You Guys

Hey Super. If your elegances ever get large enough to frag you might want to send some to Steven Pro. I'm not getting filled with un-ordered elgance like I used to, but when I did I had a few that would make it. I sen't some to Steven since he is culturing them at his new aquaculture...

Check Out Whats On Liveaquarias Divers Den.

You would be supprized how many of those million dollar houses and 100k tank owners know EXACTLY what they have in their tanks. Despite the fact they can afford anything and the money spent is nothing to them, that doesn't mean the life in their aquariums means nothing to them.

    Alkalinity And Ph

Step 1: Get Magnesium over 1350 (1400 is a good target). Step 2: Get Ca ~420-450, and ALK 10-11 Step 3: Use saturated Kalk water for top off. Step 4: monitor and adjust, occasionally needing to re-balance Ca and Alk and Mag. This will work for 90% of the tanks out there. Lots of stony...

    My Two Displays (one System)

Ya there was a big croud and the fish were hiding. I guess I really don't have many fish. The frag tanks just have 1 fish each as well. sixline melenarous wrasse mandarin goby... scratch that... I moved him to my display :)

Link To Tank Pictures: Two 48"x32"x16" Displays

Na, larger tanks cost the same to run Softy, LPS or SPS. The difference in CA use cant be more than 40 bucks in a year... if you're using driveway salts. piclking lime, Baking soda, and Epsom salts :) I do have 100X turn over with powerheads ... but with todays cost 2k turnover = 60 USD...
