We've been using an UGF for 3 years now without issue and the water is crystal clear. I have read that if you cover the filter plates with a pair of tights or stockings then you can use sand on top, but I've never tried it myself.

Has anyone got a picture of a pregnant clown loach? We've had 2 loaches for years now, both the same size. These past few days one of the loaches has literally ballooned in size. It's now double the size of the other loach and for want of a better word it's belly looks deformed. I don't know...

Am I right in thinking that water treatment for goldfish is the same as for freshwater fish? I bought some "Interpet Gold, Tap Safe" today and just noticed that it says for GoldFish on it. Will this be ok for my freshwater fish?
