    Ram

It depends on what are the "other fish" you have. If the rams are the 'badest' in town, they'll do fine. Rams (cichlids, in general) make good parents. Don't be too excited if you see their first batch of eggs. The couple will need several tries to be successful. G

    Question About German Blue Rams

If your tank can hold another ram, I would suggest you keep blue ram as a pair. First, He can live alone but he will be lonely. Secondly, rams will show a lot of interesting behavior if kept in pairs. As far as I know, rams are monogamy and they mate for life. Happy Ramirezi, G

    Rams

You might have some decor that raise the PH, ie. coral, limestone rocks, or anything that gives out carbonate. ( Look for KH. A tank that has them usually has water with high KH.) You have to remove them from your tank. I think PH 6.8 is still not too bad.. It just needs to be stable. If it...

    Rams

yes ! They are beauuuuuuuuutiful. Just wondering how old the tank is ?? I mean how long has the tank been set up? Careful until they settle down. The first week is critical for them. When you change water make sure that the new water has the same properties as the one in the tank as...

    Dwarfs?

Well, yes. Only a pair of those cichlids will occupy most of the bottom of your tank. 23 UK Gallon is roughly 27.6 US Gallon. This is still not enough for 2 pairs, unless your tank has a bottom area of at least 3 square feet.... AND/OR... heavily planted to set up visual barriers at the bottom...

    Oscars

If they are smaller than 6 inch, you can hold them in 55G tank. Even that, they may be a little fight. Once they get to adulthood, 2 oscars in 55g tank is almost considered crowded unless they are a paired couple. (Male+female) I think.

    Breeding Rams

New couple need several tries to get it right. After that, they are good parents. If you are not breeding for commercial purpose, it's the best to let the parents do the job. Looking after the eggs is 24hr job. I had tried it on my 3rd batch. The eggs need constants waterflow, and need...

    Ram

good water.. .. no physical injury, I assume. My guess is the hardness. Rams like soft water. Probably the hardness at your pet store is different from your tank. As you might already know, rams have limited adaptibility to different environments. Some rams are more sensitive than others. This...

    Ram

Please tell me more about your ram. Is she new to the tank? How long has she stopped eating? What are the water readings?(ammonia, nitrite nitrate, ph, hardness) I feed my rams with Tetra Tropical and Tetracolor Tropical flakes. I also gave them a treat (frozen blood worms or frozen brine shrims)

Need Advice On Blue Ram Spawn

i am not sure, blask. Did you use the water from the tank? Changing in water chemistry can also be stressful to rams, esp babies.

    Rams

Rams like soft water. That's why the lfs reccomend RO. if your tap water is not too hard, peat will do the job. If you don't have peat, you can use a peice of drift wood. Just put it in your tank. The tannin from the peat or drift wood will soften the water and can act as ph buffer. I have...

    Rams

6 1/2 ft long.. Your tank is > 50 Gal, i suppose? If so, you can get up to 3 pairs of one species. The trick is you have to provide them a hiding place and open swimming space. The tank has to be heavily planted (either live or plastic.. I would reccomend live plants since they can help reduce...

Need Advice On Blue Ram Spawn

Thx Juan.. I would have let the parents keep their egg if there hadn't been 9 other fish/shrims in the same tank. The parents would be overwhelmed by the tank mates. I have 3 guarami, 3 neons, 1 siamese algae eater, and 2 japanese shrims. I know I have smashed the rule of thumb ( 1 inch of fish...
