so i went away this wkend and “accidentally” had 4 females, 1 male and 4 dwarf frogs follow me home. hehehe
unfortunately the girls are not all in perfect condition. i must not have looked them over carefully enough at the shop as one of the girls is missing an eye! :( Im sure it didnt happen on the trip home as i separated them into individual cups before making the 4hour journey. she seems to be doing well and i really hope she pulls through. Im currently treating her with salt – is there something else i can add to the water to speed up her recovery? I was thinking melafix but i wasnt sure since its an open wound on her body...

i had to put the new girls all in separate 1 gal containers as i dont have their new house set up yet. I’m wondering how long they will be okay separate (meaning how long could i keep them apart for before they cant be put back together?) Im moving back to school on the 1st of Sept and im debating keeping them separate until then as it would be a hassle to set up there new home and have to disassemble it 2wks later.

the male i got is really neat, hes a vt but i just had to buy him :D – he was in a tank with a bunch of gouramis and all he was doing was flaring. he’d swim up to a gourami and flare, swim up to another one and flare... he just kept doing this, it was hilarious to watch. He’s a pretty red colour – i will post some pics soon (hopefully).

wow :D sounds like you did quite a bit of shopping ;) post pics soon!

sorry to hear about your girl :( i've never had to deal with an open wound on a fihs's body so i don't know what melafix will do. Though on the container i did remember it saying something about how it can be used to treat open wounds :/ you might want to check out the box again.

As for keeping them apart..i know i kept my female betta away from the community for about...one and a half to two weeks, and she could never be put back them again :/ i had terrible fights so she is now living in her 1G by herself :/

thats alota fish :D , sry to hear that one is missing an eye. musta happend in a fight or sumthing. melafix does treat open wounds ;)

thanks cutecotton
well i guess i should set up that tank and put the heathly girls together, just to be safe (as opposed to being lazy :p)
i just pulled out my melafix and it does say it can be used for wounds - silly me not thinking to read the bottle.
i will post some pics tomorrow hopefully, if my sis lets me use her beloved cam.
