hi all, not been on here for many a year but i'm back into my planted tanks, i've picked up what i thought was a pair of gold rams but now i'm not sure, i think i have 1 male and female but now i'm not sure, sometime i think i have 2 females, other times 2 males.
it does appear one is chasing the other now and again, no locking mouths though, but it looks like the female to me, one with the really pink belly.
i've took the best pics i can for now.
hopefully someone can help
thanks

Look closely at the “vents” on the fishes underbelly. If it is stuck out/protruding, it’s a female. If it tapers back, it’s a male.

I can’t really tell from the photos.

With natural coloured rams, mature females have pink bellies while males don't. But being gold it may not be the same.

The breeding tubes are usually only visible when they are in the process of breeding.

i suspect i have 2 males, one fish, the bigger one is staying within the plants at the back, it chases off the smaller one which to me looks more like the male. i'm letting them settle, i'll then take more pics
