It was an ordeal swapping water on 90 gal tank, the one with 20 g sump below.
Siphoned into 12.5 gallon coleman coolers & rolled to back deck. Splashed water all over hardwood floors. Downgraded from 5 to 3 gallon buckets for conditioned water replacement. Still >20 pds. Many trips. Tank hi & heavy & I’m short (5”2”) & small (110 pds) so it was grueling.

Found this on YouTube. The guy has a cichlid tank to die for. Lovely stonework.

Not for such huge tanks & hi above ground level, I think.

But your method is ok for my 5-40 gallon tanks

What‘s a journal in this context?

Sorry, not sure how FF works
I’m not sure either just clicking around and hope I don’t run into traffic lol looks like maybe bottom tab is like menu, 1st option Forums, then scroll down to most appropriate topic and start post there. I hope I got it right ..so I finally post my first 😝..check it out ;)

A journal is like a 'Dear Diary' or Blog, detailing an individuals adventures in fishkeeping.
It works in exactly the same way as any other sub-Forum you post in, except that, unlike a normal post that asks a question, gets answers and then fades from view, Journals can keep on going for as long as you want.
I set mine up, back in early July, when I was setting up my first tank after aeons. I've now progressed onto my second.
Whilst it may be of some interest to others, it'll be a handy reminder of what I did and when, for myself.
My 'Journal' is here.

That said, there are many others to look at and perhaps even learn. I know that I found some of them useful, especially those who kept on presenting us with learning opportunities. ;)
Check them all out here.

😍thank you…I know you know I’m lost and this is your way of saying quit jazzing it up and sending them to u by accident 🤣🙈
True...I do know you're lost and I'd be tempted to tell you where to go...but that might be rude! :D :D :D
Instead, I give you a road map and some pointers, so you can guide yourself along the way. ;)

Whenever I post something I think is worth sharing, I try to put it where it would be most easily found...so I put my tropical discussion stuff in the Tropical Discussion sub-Forum. If/when I have an Emergency, I see that there's a sub-Forum for Tropical Fish Emergencies and will post in there. Plus, I bet there's a whole load of useful stuff to read in there, about emergencies people have experienced and how the got resolved.

When I first joined the Forum, I realised that I was out of date in some aspects of the hobby, so I posted in the New to the Hobby Questions and Answers. Whilst I no longer post in there, I will if I come across something totally new and alien to me.

Simples.

Yep, if you click at the top left "Forums," you'll see the whole forum menu. There is a rather bewildering array, and some definitely see more action than others. When in doubt, I post in "tropical discussion" if it's on topic, and "General chat" if it's off topic. I have a couple of journals going in that section, too.
