We have a 29 gallon tank that has a bad case of yellow water . No wood of any kind , probably overstocked trying water changes every 2 days , any suggestions?

Water changes should certainly help. It could be an algae or bacterial bloom, though yellow yould be a new color for me. Could something else have somehow gotten into the water? If you don't use carbon in your filter, also try that. If you do use carbon, try replacing it with fresh carbon. Carbon is very good at removing most impurities from the water. In addition to water changes, it can't hurt.
