A little while ago, I found our gorgeous Blue Front Amazon Parrot, Ozzy, breathing his last breaths in his aviary, he died in my arms.
Fearful of a communicable disease, we had a n autopsy performed on his body and it was found that he had an enormously engarged liver, leading to lung odema and death.
We had time to morn our beloved Ozzy, but have found the house empty without his cies of "How d'you do?" and "Philliiiiiiiiiiiiiip!!!!" ringing around the walls.
His companions in the aviary, a Galah Cockatoo called Rosie and a White-eye Conure called Egg seem to be missing Ozzy too, so we've decided to get another Amazon Parrot.
We didn't want another Blue Front, because we don't want to feel that we're replacing Ozzy, so when a local breeder told us he had a six month old Yellow Nape for sale, we couldn't resist!
So this is the bird we're getting, he's un named as yet (any suggestions?) and we'll be taking him home in a couple of months once we've scraped together the £650 that he costs. We've paid a deposit and the breeder has promised to hold him for us as we save up.
He's still a baby, so the dandilion yellow flash on the back of the neck hasn't appeared yet, that will come in with his next moult
Here he (she?) is.
