he he he ... NEW TANK!!

Saw an advert in the paper yesterday for a tank sized 48 X 15 X 18 with a hood, light and filter thrown in for just £50. Well this is the sized tank we have been thinking about for a long time and were planning on buying brand new at christmas. But this way we have saved some money :D the tank is in perfect condition even though we had to squeeze it into my car and drive along with the boot open!!

The hood and light are working, but its an undergravel filter and the powerheads seem very rattely so i think we stick with my enheim aquaball 2212. I have just ordered a metal stand and heater off the internet. and i want to buy a reflector since only one bulb can fit in the hood and that is only 38watts. So will have it set up by the end of next week hopefully!! ;) and fish will be so happy to have the extra room :D

congrats on the new tank!

what u planing on putting in there

Well my 30gallon community tank in my sig will be moving into the new tank since some of the fish are quite a size now. :p
While my two fat sleeper gobies will go into the 30gallon (though when they are bigger, one will have to be found another home since they grow to about 10 inches)

Congrats aloaring!

You got a great deal and you don't have to wait till Christmas. :hyper:

Congratulations on your new tank. I'll be looking forward to pics of your tank and your fish!

Awww Thanks everyone, so nice to know that i'm in a place where i don't bore people to death with talkis about fish and tanks!!

Problem with buying it now is that i'll have to buy something else for my boyfriend at Christmas (DOH!- we need a DOH! smilie!)

Plus i won't get a digi cam until christmas (Double DOH!) but i'll take pictures with my APS and then try and use my dads scanner and computer to get them on the internet. No promises though!! -_- I soo want to show off my fish!

You mentioned a metal stand. Usually they have a bottom shelf that another tank can fit on. :shifty:

d'oh = :X

We already thought of that, we wanted to put out 3 footer under it then realised we wouldn't have enough plug space. Can you beleive it our lounge only has 1 socket !! More likely he'll get another catfish or something :hey: And i'm scared i think i have multiple tank syndrome!!

Like the Doh smiley Cat !!

 Well done on the bargain I am so jeleous , I would love a 4ft tank if only to give me somewhere to put my baby Gibby (Dyson) when he grows up (and out).

For your pictures :snap: , most photo processing shops will now offer you a CD with your pics on for about a quid extra, then you don't need to mess about with a scanner.

Good luck
Arfie

Thanks arfie i realised that this lunchtime while walking through boots so once i finish the film you will hopefully see photos!

Ohhh question!

Do i have to put a layer of polysterene between the frame and tank? or does the tank sit straigt on the frame? Never too sure!

OOOOOOoo Bargain. I'm looking for a tank exactly that size at the moment, but I doubt I'll find a deal like that  Oh well back to the local papers........ :S

Put a layer between them it compensates for fluctuations in the stand. Helps spread the load.
