Well, I am new to planted tanks, and only started the planting on Tuesday of last week. I bought 2 straight Vallis which I planted at the back to hide my heater, and within 4 days, one of them has flowered!!! :hyper: I didnt even know that Vallis did flower? I have had loads of it in the past and it never has before.

Here are some pics. The flowers come up on spiral tendrils.

Height 50-100 cm

Width 8+ cm

Light requirements low-very high

Vallisneria americana (natans) is a hardy plant for beginners. The leaves do not grow very long, which also makes it suitable for small aquariums. It has fine, narrow leaves so it does not overshadow other plants much. Easy to propagate using its many runners.
