A 10G Tank| With heater, lights, filter, plants (java fern/moss and silk) and plenty of places to hide. Water changed frequently.
4 Bronze corys.
4 Amano shrimp.
1 Bulldog pleco.
6 Neons
1 Dwarf Gourami
If you think this is overstocked;
What would be the minumum size tank you would recommend for these fish?

Going by the inche per gallon rule, you are 10 inches off. And those fish grow. I say 30-40 gallons, but that's just a guestimate. Wait for an expert.

Instead of Bronze corys, see if you can get some Hasbrosus. They are just the cutest little things

Then you might be OK :) But that Bulldog plec is a large waste producer unfortunately.

I don't count shrimp btw.

I'd really like a plec or something that looks similar to one, do you know anything that would be suitable? (The dwarf gourami was just a random fish, i'm not really bothered about having one). Also, i'd prefer to get bronze corys as they are easier to get hold of. :)
Thanks in advance,
Neal

Then you'll have to drop the pleco - you can't have it all in that small tank.

i'd say that's definately well overstocked.
i think that a 10 gallon is a little small for a school of neons given that just with that school you get almost 10" of fish (1.5-2" adult size) and they are also pretty active so will be constrained in a 10G.

also, a 10G might not be a great idea for the gourami as they are pretty sensitive to changes in the water which abound in small tanks like that.

i'd say that if you're set on doing neons in that tank then get them and maybe a couple of cories... don't know much about the shrimp though...

I would find new homes for the pleco and gourami and then I would consider it okay.

As I said in your other post put your moors and your loach in the 10 gal and get them out of that 4 gal. Take care of the fish you have before buying more fish.

Not only would the cories and the bulldog plec be overstocking the filter (plecs are Mother Nature's little fertilising machines), but they would all be crowding the substrate of a not very big tank.

Seems to me like Shelly Otterkins has an extremely good point; if your current fish need this accommodation (poor as it is for goldfish), then you owe it to them and not to any new fish you have not yet assumed responsibility for.

True, I could get a 10G for the rest of the goldfishes life (although im thinking of giving them away to a pond owner). My mams friend has a pond and he would accept them, so I could do that. Also, thanks for all the feedback everyone. I'm not going to get a pleco now, after I hear bad things about them. Also i'm not getting a dwarf gourami, it was just something to add to the list. Also, I don't already have these fish or the tank, it's just what I was considering in the future.

Black moors can't be put in a pond - why not just get a proper home for them, something about 100 litres will do at a push, and forget about buying more fish. Look after the ones you already have.

I can't afford a tank that big, and I also don't have anywhere to put one. Listen right as mad as it may seem, they have lived in the same tank for over a year, and i'm sure at my LFS they were in something even smaller. However stupid/cruel I may seem, they do not need moving yet, they are both suitable sizes for the tank.

Nobody particularly cares whether they're 'the right size' or what tanks you can and can't get. You look after the fish, you reap the consequences of buying them. And using 'at my LFS they were in something even smaller' is an excuse people who know they're wrong but really don't care use. Red tail cats grow to ~5ft but shops keep then in tanks around 5 gallons, and even you can see how wrong that is. After a year, they should be much bigger than they are now, but a) that's not a good thing and b ) It's not nessecarily too late to put right the (blatent) wrongs.
