I have a 37 gallon tank that is equipped with two 30 gallon filters. It is currently stocked with
3x Silvertip Tetras
3x Zebra Danios
4x Platies
1x BN Pleco

I was wondering if I would be able to add more fish to come out with
5-6x Zebra Danios
5x Silvertip Tetras
6x Platies [2 males, 4 females]
1x BN Pleco

Would this be considered too much? If so, what modifications should I make? Any help will be greatly appreciated! :)

Sounds fine to me. I would go for
6x Zebra Danios
6x Silvertip Tetras
4x Platies (All same sex so you dont get over run with fry)
1x BN Pleco
3x Apistogramma (1 male, 2 females) theres loads of types i personally would go for Apistogramma agassizii

I have 2 male platies, and 2 female platies, which is why I wanted to get 2 more females.

A family member of mine is working on setting up his own tank, and he is wanting some platy fry for his tank in the future, which he asked me if I could supply him.
I have experience with platies, and have a 50 gallon growout tank, as well as several smaller tanks to support the fry.

But I was wondering, would my tank look a little "off balance" for lack of a better phrase, without a centerpiece fish? I was just wondering if I should add a single larger fish to off-set all the small schooling fish.. any suggestions?

Fair enough
I think you could get away with
6x Zebra Danios
6x Silvertip Tetras
6x Platies (All same sex so you dont get over run with fry)
1x BN Pleco
3x Apistogramma (1 male, 2 females)

The Apistogramma would act as a centre piece and also stay near the bottom so the tank shouldnt look as top heavy.

Would I be able to substitute the Apistogramma for a Honey Gourami? Its not that I have anything against them, but they are extremely hard to find here. None of my LFS's carry them. :X

You could but the reason i said Apisto was to add a little bi extra to to the bottom of the tank because the tanks quite top heavy. Theres quite a few others that would work
Dwarf flag cichlids
Red breasted acara
Checkerboard cichlid
Rams
Keyholes

A single honey gourami would work.. if you want a centrepiece fish, then how about a single dwarf gourami male or a pair because they are slightly bigger?
