I am trying to set up another tank. I know they aren't exactly matched but I love the idea of having a medium catfish or 2(have been looking at pictus) but also love corydoras and have a bit of a thing for the dwarf cichlids. I was wondering if you thought these would go together ok? It's only a 200l tank at the moment but I am happy to upgrade it later. If they do what dwarf cichlids would you recommend and what ratios? I am used to tetra and barbs so I don't want to get this wrong
Thank you!

Pictus will try eat the corys, probs end up in it being fatal for both partys, dwarf cichlids are fine with corys, however may be eaten by the pictus too. But I'd go for a group of 8-12 corys and a trio of dwarf cichlids (2 females 1 male), like an apisto species or nanacara.

As above really Pictus could be a risk. But I always think that some Hoplos look great in a group of Cories :) So that could be an option.

As for Dwarf Cichlids - thats a pretty big grouping. Some are best kept as groups others as hareems and some just as pairs. If you have a 200 liter tank perhaps a stocking like this could work (going on a typical 4ftx15inch foot print

5 Checkerboard Cichlids
2 Laetacara Dorsiger
6 Pencil Fish (you choose the strain)
3 Spotted Headstander
3 Hoplo Cats
8 Skunk Cories (though most species would work)

Wills :)

If you can locate some, I would recomment a two spot bagrid catfish - Mystus micracanthus you can have these in a group, not as active as the pictus but small enough for a 200l tank and safe with cory's and dwarf cichlids, I have two spot bagrids in with my dwarf cichlids with no worries, however they are a predatory cat and will eat small tetra overnight!
