so now the tank just has cheech and chong , id like to add a suitable medium sized catfish for the bottom. would i be right in thinking that the sooner i can add 1 the better . im thinking that if they get too big and too used to having the tank to themselves thatthey may take offence to the new boy .

When small they can grow about 1" per month so it would be best to get one while there still small. What about a true Jaguar catfish/Liosomadoras oncinus

id quite like a synoidontis angelicus if i can find 1

all i gotta do is find 1 . i may well go take a look at wildwoods website .

They have them but there £38

How about an Asian Upside Down Catfish, Mystus leucophasis?

Given its adult size and general temprement, it might be a good match for Cheech and Chong.

hmmm by the time i add postage im looking at around £60 . its nice but not that nice .

nobodyofthegoat . thanks for the suggestion but i dont like upside downs .

the way i see it , as long as i make sure the catfish i get is a decent size i have got probably say a month or 2 , so il just bide my time for the right fish.

heres where my old featherfin synodontis would of been perfect . sold hima ages ago tho .

Should be ok when they are small, you will also need heater guard, extra suckers on your spray bar, a ball for them to play with, plastic plants to throw round the tank, a pipe attatched to a sucker for them to wack is another good toy (tigger loves hers  )

been reading a lot on oscarfishlover about the whole toy thing . seems quite a contentious are of debate that divides opinion. some people think they like to play , others think they dont want these items in their home and are trying to get them out .

looking through the catfish on wildwoods they have got black lancer catfish Bagrichthys macracanthus which i quite like the look of .

Just dont add a plec, for some reason, both Tigger, Tinker & Tailor hate plecs, I have one in with T & T now, but they abuse him horribly and Tigger just made him hide because if he dared to come out, she would attack him  A nice sized synodontis would be ok.

wildwoods has loads of catfish on their site , thats just the 1st 1 ive seen i like . altho from there id need it posted and its too cold for that at the moment. this is where i find the limited choice in my local shops very frustrating.

i just got rid of a plec with the rams and corys minx , the little buggers are just turd factories

Oscars are funny fish, I once had a pair of tiger oscars that decimated anything that went in with them yet those 9 inch albino ones I had always lived with silver dollars, clown loach, BGK,fire eel etc and they were harmless

How about 4 decent sized clown loach?
