Fish Addict
Lawd! So last night I was working w/ my live food cultures for my fries (bettas) . . . I have a good variety.
Grindal worms
BBS
Microworms
and Vinegar eels
I think any of the fishies that have babies will do good
It's a buffet of worms.
But when I opened the microworms. . . (I got this culture fr ebay) the smell didn't hit me for a couple seconds but when it did, it was the worse smell I have ever dealt w/ in fish keeping. And seriously I've come across some nasty smelling tanks. . . cleaning etc.
But this one. . . it's like I tried to breathe through my mouth and STILL, my throat could smell it. It was the worse thing ever!! And you know how when you've smelled something bad it sticks w/ you for awhile - yeah I'm still gagging on the fumes.
What's the worse thing you've smelled dealing w/ fish keeping??

I am not getting another in case it dies while I am on holiday. It would really contaminate the tank.
Yeah, microworms can get a bit on the nose at times. I love opening the lids on my cultures whenever the missus' mother is around - makes for a very short visit!
had to turn the exhaust fan on and close the door for an hour before the smells started going away.
