So I had a 3.6 gal nano tank for my betta fish but decided to upgrade it to a 5 gal with a filter system I created that takes up less room. The tank is carpeted with Monte Carlo and has two green Cabomba plants. I decided to stick the LED light onto this tank to see how it works out but after trying to do some research I'm so confused and worried my plants won't get adequate lighting. The light says it is 3 watts. What does that mean exactly? Does that mean the strength only equals out to only 3 watts or it mean 3 watts per gallon? I'm trying to figure out if I need a stronger light as by calculation i figured out my tank would need around 25 watts based on the 5 watts per gal rule for planted aquairums. Someone please help explain this to me and feel free to make any suggestions as to what the correct lighting would be. Thanks!
