I've been researching them, and people have said that they don't eat plants, but I'm a bit worried that they might dig them up, and lead to a mass migration of plants to the surface of the tank.

Will my plants be okay?

should be fine, you may find your plants float at first but once a decent root system is established mts won't dig them up :)

I posted earlier about some snail that looks a lot like Malaysian Snail. It is quite small, I never see them bigger than this:

They are all over the tank during day time eating leaves of some plants and looking disgusting.

You could try getting rid of them by leaving algae wafers in the tank then netting out the snails that are feeding after a few minutes. Not sure if it would work if they have a taste for plants, but you could try.

All the best, Bill.

Thanks, Bill.
I really wonder if those are the malaysian snails because of their size (shape: the shell is not elongated enough) and being out during daytime. I put some lettice but they don't seem to like it.
