I've got nothing over 2-3" in my tank, so who ate the black neon tetra i put in last week (see sig)? Admittedly they were small, was it likely more than one culprit from the cichlids listed?

at a guess i would say either the sev or the acara but i dunno

See my acara is tiny, only an inch, the 3" ones are the sev, ellioti, festivuum and 2 of the keyholes, the others are 1-2" but I already had 6 adult black neons in there, I was adding to the shoal, when they arrived from ebay they were small, they were fine overnight then that afternoon had all gone. I've got 40 adults in there now i just hope they do ok

Ok, so there's no out and out carnivore here, I really hope the adult ones I've put in do ok, but it's always a risk mixing fish, just surprised they have never bothered my 6 adults I had in there this whole time but then wipe out 25 fish in one hit

They ate 25 in 1 week
are you sure they are being eaten? Maybe their dieing them being eaten between all of them?

frustrating Mel

I;ve just bought 5 tester neons as I believe the issue I had before was my Uarus, now only the rubber eel can bea muncher and I want a big shoal! :good:

Nope they disappeared in ONE afternoon with the lights ON!! They survived the night they went in, but not the next day!! Mad isn't it

25 in one day  That is mental. Surly one of them must have had a huge stomach after eating them. Unless they all had a few.

None of them had a big belly, I can't understand it, it's the weirdest thing i've ever seen (or not seen!)

My sister had same problem, granted they dissapear lights on, but as soon as lights went out n tv was on, i noticed them getting picked off every couple of minutes...its just a test really,

I'll check it out later but now i have bigger juicier ones i hope it will stop, otherwise the cichlids will have to go, i always wanted a giant shoal of tetra, nothing's gonna stop me now lol
