White stringy stuff in the water

It seems to be worst around my live plants.

I have a bit of algea on my windows but that doesn't really bother me.

Would the white stuff be algea?. It is very small and just sticks to the plant mostly but some of it actually sticks to the windows too.
 
Hiya :) Not sure about the white stringy stuff but my tank glass gets white patches and I think it is algae. Scrape it off carefully with a pane-scraper from the lfs before doing your water change.
 
I'd rather have a fish eat off the algea than scrapng it off...

I'll get an algea eater of some sort when my tank is fully sycled, which should be in a week or 2 I'm guessing
 
My pleco won't eat the algae off the glass. I was qyite disappointed, but he is very houseproud and spends all his time eating algae off his cave. :wub:

I have posted questions asking about this white stringy stuff thats in my tank but nobody knows what it is or how to get rid of it. :sad:

I have done large water changes and vac'ed the gravel and put in some water clear and i've still got traces of the damm stuff

Do some water changes until it goes away as soon as poss

All my water peramiters were fine.

coming from your plants you say? I had same. so took plant out to discover it was roots growing from the sprouts on the plants.
